
On February 22, 2019 for the first time in Uzbekistan with assistance of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan took place the International Educational Forum „The platform of cooperation of higher educational institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan with foreign partners: Uzbekistan as an international scientific and educational hub of Central Asia“ with the participation of more than 50 universities of Europe, North America and Asian countries.
Such activities are especially important for the development of the international cooperation of Uzbekistan in the field of science and education. The universities of the Republic have very good potential. Foreign students and teachers show more and more interest in the dynamically developing country which is now emerging as an international scientific and educational hub based on long-standing academic traditions.
The event was attended by representatives of the national agencies for promotion of education from various countries and leading universities of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Estonia, Latvia, Germany, Switzerland, Poland, Turkey, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Great Britain, the USA and Japan. Visitors had an opportunity to discover degree and double degree programs, internship programs and advanced trainings, including programs for workers of higher educational institutions.
Within the Forum, the prospects of the international cooperation of educational organizations in different countries and entry of Uzbek higher educational institutions into the global market were discussed. A number of the universities of the Republic had already established useful contacts. According to the representative of Study in Germany Simon Kretzschmar, many participants showed interest in partnership with Germany in the field of education.
The Educational Forum undoubtedly became a significant step in the process of integration of the Republic of Uzbekistan into the activity of the international scientific and educational community.
