Country Overview
Kazakhstan, the ninth-largest country in the world, with its strategic location bridging Europe and Asia, is becoming an increasingly attractive destination for international educational institutions looking to recruit students for study abroad programmes. As the largest economy in Central Asia, Kazakhstan is one of the most stable and developed countries in the region, which shows a strong commitment to enhancing its education system, adopting numerous reforms to align with global standards.
With one of the youngest populations in Central Asia, Kazakhstan is rapidly adopting an international curriculum, fueling a growing demand for quality education. This trend is significantly boosting the study abroad market as students seek global academic opportunities.
According to Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Education, approximately 150,000 Kazakhs study in universities abroad and by 2025 the number of students is expected to rise to 400,000.

At our education fairs in Almaty and Astana, we observe a slightly higher interest in Bachelor’s programmes (about 43%) compared to Master’s programmes (about 26-29%). The specific interest in programmes varies based on the representation of those programmes at the fair, as we promote each participant individually.
