Building on our successful long-term presence in the student recruitment markets of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, Begin Group has been actively operating in Uzbekistan for over five years. In the vibrant capital of Tashkent, we host in-person university fairs, private and boarding school fairs, and B2B meetings. We invite educational institutions to participate in these dynamic events and explore the rich opportunities that Uzbekistan has to offer.
Country Overview
With over 36 million people, Uzbekistan is the most populous nation in Central Asia, characterised by a youthful demographic increasingly focused on education. Recent government-driven reforms have modernised the educational system, aligning it with international standards and expanding access to higher education. Uzbekistan is home to over 200 universities and has prioritised the expansion of English-language programmes, making its students highly desirable to foreign institutions.
Over a million students are enrolled in higher education, with more than 110,000 Uzbek students studying abroad — a number that continues to grow. The limited capacity of local universities has prompted many young Uzbeks to seek education abroad, supported by families who view international education as a pathway to better career prospects and global exposure. This has created a significant pool of motivated students eager to study in countries with well-established educational systems.
Foreign educational institutions that engage with Uzbekistan through recruitment fairs and partnerships with local schools are well-positioned to attract this talent, diversifying their student bodies and contributing to the global education of Uzbek youth.
